Stat. tit. 36, § 36-2516","heading":"Foreign and alien companies","body":"No corporation, company, association or society organized under\n\nthe laws of any other state or territory of the United States, or\n\nthe District of Columbia, or foreign country shall transact business\n\nunder the provisions of this article until it has received from the\n\nInsurance Commissioner a certificate of authority to do business in\n\nthis state, a duplicate of which shall be filed in his office. The\n\nInsurance Commissioner shall annually issue to such foreign\n\ncorporation, company or association renewal certificates of\n\nauthority to continue business, if it shall have fully complied with\n\nthe provisions of this article, and if the Insurance Commissioner\n\nshall be of the opinion that any such corporation, company or\n\nassociation is not entitled to a renewal of a certificate of\n\nauthority, he shall cite the same to appear, giving reasons\n\ntherefor, and to show cause why the certificate of authority should\n\nbe renewed, and unless the certificate of authority shall be renewed\n\nwithin thirty days after such hearing, such foreign corporation,\n\ncompany or association shall cease to do business in this state. No\n\nforeign corporation, company, association or society shall be\n\nauthorized to transact any business authorized by this article\n\nwithin this state, unless it can furnish evidence satisfactory to\n\nthe Insurance Commissioner that it has a reserve or emergency fund\n\nequal in amount to that required by this article, and the same is\n\nheld for the benefit of policyholders only, and invested as required\n\nby the insurance laws of its home state.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"929223e0bba1d22ad1d33343dbd0b1abd6937c4bf9f7f02836162e9482a4f35a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-2515","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-2517"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
