The owner of a benefit contract shall have the right at all\n\ntimes to change the beneficiary or beneficiaries in accordance with\n\nthe laws or rules of the society unless the owner waives this right\n\nby specifically requesting in writing that the beneficiary\n\ndesignation be irrevocable. A society may, through its laws or\n\nrules, limit the scope of beneficiary designations and shall provide\n\nthat no revocable beneficiary shall have or obtain any vested\n\ninterest in the proceeds of any certificate until the certificate\n\nhas become due and payable in conformity with the provisions of the\n\nbenefit contract.\n\nB. A society may make provision for the payment of funeral\n\nbenefits to the extent of such portion of any payment under a\n\ncertificate as might reasonably appear to be due to any person\n\nequitably entitled thereto by reason of having incurred expense\n\noccasioned by the burial of the member; provided, the payment shall\n\nnot exceed the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00).\n\nC.
