Standards of valuation for certificates issued prior to one\n\n(1) year after the effective date of this act shall be those\n\nprovided by the laws applicable immediately prior to the effective\n\ndate of this act.\n\nB. The minimum standards of valuation for certificates issued\n\non or after one (1) year from the effective date of this act shall\n\nbe based on the following tables:\n\n1. For certificates of life insurance - the Insurance\n\nCommissioner's 1941 Standard Ordinary Mortality Table, the\n\nCommissioner's 1941 Standard Industrial Mortality Table, the\n\nCommissioner's 1958 Standard Ordinary Mortality Table, the\n\nCommissioner's 1980 Standard Ordinary Mortality Table or any more\n\nrecent table made applicable to life insurers; and\n\n2. For annuity and pure endowment certificates, for total and\n\npermanent disability benefits, for accidental death benefits and for\n\nnoncancellable accident and health benefits - such tables as are\n\nauthorized for use by life insurers in this state.\n\nAll of the above shall be under valuation methods and standards,\n\nincluding interest assumptions, in accordance with the laws of this\n\nstate applicable to life insurers issuing policies containing like\n\nbenefits.\n\nC. The Insurance Commissioner may, in his or her discretion,\n\naccept other standards for valuation if the Commissioner finds that\n\nthe reserves produced thereby will not be less in the aggregate than\n\nreserves computed in accordance with the minimum valuation standard\n\nherein prescribed. The Commissioner may, in his or her discretion,\n\nvary the standards of mortality applicable to all benefit contracts\n\non substandard lives or other extrahazardous lives by any society\n\nauthorized to do business in this state.\n\nD. Any society, with the consent of the commissioner of\n\ninsurance of the state of domicile of the society and under such\n\nconditions, if any, which such commissioner may impose, may\n\nestablish and maintain reserves on its certificates in excess of the\n\nreserves required thereunder, but the contractual rights of any\n\nbenefit member shall not be affected thereby.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6ff5f36a1e35ec0e0a19f4a9a9ff3bc5f022b4e08a87b6c9191ab71ed3f1115d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-2724.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-2726.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
