The Insurance Commissioner of the State of Oklahoma, in\n\naddition to the other powers and duties vested in the Commissioner,\n\nshall be authorized to relocate the Oklahoma Insurance Department's\n\nOklahoma City offices to a single site in Oklahoma County, including\n\nbut not limited to a tract of land located along the Lincoln\n\nBoulevard Corridor owned by the Commissioners of the Land Office of\n\nthe State of Oklahoma, as Trustees of the Land Office Trust.\n\nB. The new office location shall be occupied by the Oklahoma\n\nInsurance Department and shall consist of sufficient square footage\n\nto accommodate staff offices, program areas, staff conference areas,\n\nrecords and computer areas, general storage areas, security\n\nequipment storage areas, main room, reception area and other\n\nnecessary areas for operation of the Insurance Department.\n\nC. The Insurance Commissioner is authorized to purchase a\n\nbuilding, for no more than the appraised value, to serve as the new\n\noffice location, or in the alternative, the Insurance Commissioner\n\nis authorized to enter into a lease-purchase agreement for the\n\nacquisition of such building with the person or entity that will\n\ndevelop or build the building. For the purposes of the purchase or\n\nbuild-out of the new office location, the Insurance Department is\n\nhereby exempted from the requirements under the Public Competitive\n\nBidding Act of 1974 provided in Sections 101 through 139 of Title 61\n\nof the Oklahoma Statutes, provided that no funds used for such\n\npurchase or build-out come from the General Revenue Fund, and the\n\nexpenditure of all funds is overseen and approved by both the\n\nOklahoma Insurance Department and the Commissioners of the Land\n\nOffice.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f9850f8b52db09932b4812747a6529347874b5f2d8ebdef2df428edc47bea6d7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-302","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
