The Insurance Commissioner may appoint such deputies,\n\nassistants, examiners, actuaries, attorneys, clerks and employees,\n\nat compensation to be fixed by the Insurance Commissioner, as may be\n\nnecessary properly to discharge the duties imposed upon the\n\nInsurance Commissioner under this Code. The Insurance Commissioner\n\nshall appoint all examiners for the office. The attorneys appointed\n\nby the Insurance Commissioner shall be the legal advisors for the\n\noffice of Insurance Commissioner and are authorized to appear for\n\nand represent the Insurance Commissioner in any and all litigation\n\nthat may arise in the discharge of his or her duties except as\n\notherwise provided elsewhere in this Code. Provided, the Insurance\n\nCommissioner, whenever the Insurance Commissioner deems it\n\nnecessary, may call upon the Attorney General of the State of\n\nOklahoma for legal counsel, and such assistance as may be required\n\nto enforce provisions of this Code.\n\nB. No deputy, assistant or employee of the Commissioner shall\n\nbe financially interested, directly or indirectly, in any insurer,\n\nagency or insurance transaction except as a policyholder or claimant\n\nunder a policy; except, that as to such matters wherein a conflict\n\nof interests does not exist on the part of any such individual, the\n\nCommissioner may employ from time to time insurance actuaries or\n\nother technicians who are independently practicing their professions\n\neven though similarly employed by insurers and others.
