Stat. tit. 36, § 36-307","heading":"Duties of Insurance Commissioner","body":"The Insurance Commissioner shall be charged with the duty of\n\nadministration and enforcement of the provisions of the Oklahoma\n\nInsurance Code, of any requirements placed on an insurance company\n\npursuant to the Oklahoma Statutes. The Commissioner shall have\n\njurisdiction over complaints against all persons engaged in the\n\nbusiness of insurance, and shall hear all matters either in person,\n\nby authorized disinterested employees or by hearing examiners\n\nappointed by the Commissioner for that purpose and not specifically\n\naddressed otherwise in this act. It shall be the duty of the\n\nCommissioner to file and safely keep all books and papers required\n\nby law to be filed with the Insurance Department, and to keep and\n\npreserve in permanent form a full record of proceedings including a\n\nconcise statement of the conditions of such insurers and other\n\nentities reported and examined by the Department and its examiners.\n\nThe Commissioner shall, annually, at the earliest practicable date\n\nafter returns are received from the several authorized insurers and\n\nother organizations, make a report to the Governor of the affairs of\n\nthe office of the Commissioner, which report shall contain a tabular\n\nstatement and synopsis of the several statements, as accepted by the\n\nCommissioner, which shall include with respect to each insurance\n\ncompany the admitted assets, liabilities except capital, capital and\n\nsurplus, Oklahoma premium income, amount of claims paid in Oklahoma\n\nand such other matters as may be of benefit to the public.\n\nThe Commissioner may educate consumers and make recommendations\n\nregarding the subject of insurance in this state, and shall set\n\nforth in a statement the various sums received and disbursed by the\n\nDepartment, from and to whom and for what purpose.
