Any person of competent legal capacity may contract for\n\ninsurance.\n\nB. A minor not less than sixteen (16) years of age as at\n\nnearest birthday may, notwithstanding such minority and with signed\n\nparental or guardian consent, contract for life or accident and\n\nhealth insurance on his or her own life or body or the life or body\n\nof any person in whom he or she has an insurable interest, for his\n\nor her own benefit or for the benefit of his or her father or\n\nmother, spouse, child, brother, sister or grandparents. Such a\n\nminor shall, notwithstanding such minority, be deemed competent to\n\nexercise all rights and powers with respect to or under any contract\n\nof life or accident and health insurance on his or her own life or\n\nbody or with respect to or under any contract such minor effected on\n\nthe life or body of any person in whom he or she has an insurable\n\ninterest, as though of full legal age, and may surrender his or her\n\ninterest therein and give a valid discharge for any benefit accruing\n\nor money payable thereunder. The minor shall not, by reason of his\n\nor her minority, be entitled to rescind, avoid or repudiate the\n\ncontract, nor to rescind, avoid or repudiate any exercise of a right\n\nor privilege thereunder, except that such minor, not otherwise\n\nemancipated, shall not be bound by any unperformed agreement to pay,\n\nby promissory note or otherwise, any premium on any such insurance\n\ncontract.\n\nC. A minor not less than sixteen (16) years of age may,\n\nnotwithstanding such minority and with signed parental or guardian\n\nconsent, contract for insurance on other subjects of insurance in\n\nwhich he or she has an insurable interest. A minor shall be bound\n\nby any settlement made in connection with any insurance contract so\n\nissued. The minor shall not, by reason of his or her minority, be\n\nentitled to rescind, avoid or repudiate the contract, nor to\n\nrescind, avoid or repudiate any exercise of a right or privilege\n\nthereunder, except that such minor, not otherwise emancipated, shall\n\nnot be bound by any unperformed agreement to pay, by promissory note\n\nor otherwise, any premium on any such insurance contract.\n\nD.
