Stat. tit. 36, § 36-3626","heading":"Payment discharges insurer","body":"Whenever the proceeds of or payments under a life or accident\n\nand health insurance policy or annuity contract heretofore or\n\nhereafter issued become payable in accordance with the terms of such\n\npolicy or contract, or the exercise of any right or privilege\n\nthereunder, and the insurer makes payment thereof in accordance with\n\nthe terms of the policy or contract or in accordance with any\n\nwritten assignment thereof, the person then designated in the policy\n\nor contract or by such assignment as being entitled thereto shall be\n\nentitled to receive such proceeds or payments and to give full\n\nacquittance therefor, and such payments shall fully discharge the\n\ninsurer from all claims under the policy or contract unless, before\n\npayment is made, the insurer has received at its home office written\n\nnotice by or on behalf of some other person that such other person\n\nclaims to be entitled to such payment or some interest in the policy\n\nor contract.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9cc4bd38a5783b7c7dd9f39dce166cb21b16a861c0add6a2c27544627673aaeb","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-3625","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-3627"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
