Stat. tit. 36, § 36-4508","heading":"Selection of licensed psychologist or licensed and","body":"certified clinical social worker - Definitions.\n\nA. If the terms of any group or blanket accident and health\n\ninsurance policy cover services within the lawful scope of practice\n\nof a licensed psychologist or licensed and certified clinical social\n\nworker then:\n\n1. Such services may be performed by any person licensed to do\n\nso in this state as provided in subsection B of this section.\n\n2. Selection of such a psychologist or social worker may be\n\nmade by the insured at his option and, provided other conditions of\n\nthe policy are met, reimbursement shall not be denied when service\n\nis rendered by a person so licensed.\n\n3. The provisions of this section shall apply to the policies\n\nand contracts of insurance issued thereunder which are delivered,\n\namended, ratified, or issued for delivery in Oklahoma, after October\n\n1, 1982.\n\n4. Any provision, exclusion, or limitation of a policy that\n\ndenies an insured the privilege of selecting such a psychologist or\n\nsocial worker shall, to the extent of the denial, be void, but such\n\nvoid provision shall not affect the validity of the other provisions\n\nof the policy.\n\nB. For purposes of this section:\n\n1. \"Licensed psychologist\" means a person licensed and\n\ncomplying with the Psychologists Licensing Act, Sections 1351\n\nthrough 1375 of Title 59 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n2. \"Licensed and certified social worker\" means a person\n\nlicensed and complying with the Social Workers' Licensing Act,\n\nSections 1250.1 (3) and 1261.1 (B) of Title 59 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c1f5583c6869f8ab84c8c25fe32c3a0f1cd6827806ab6fee03cd62e0ddc35c66","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-4507","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-4509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
