Stat. tit. 36, § 36-4513","heading":"Disclosure of patient insurance coverage and benefit","body":"information to medical service providers, health plans or health\n\nplan sponsors.\n\nA. All entities providing health insurance or health care\n\ncoverage to individuals residing within the state shall provide such\n\ninformation on coverage and benefits as may be required by any\n\nhealth care provider, health plan, health plan sponsor or their\n\nagent regarding the coverage provided by the entity to any patient\n\nor beneficiary of the medical service provider, health plan, or\n\nhealth plan sponsor.\n\nB. Any health care provider, health plan, health plan sponsor\n\nor their agent is authorized to transmit the simple human\n\nidentifiers in ANSI X.12 270 inquiries including the name, gender,\n\ndate of birth, and member number or policyholder identification\n\nnumber if required by the health plan of a patient to any and all\n\nentities licensed or registered to provide health insurance or\n\nhealth care coverage to individuals residing within the state to\n\nestablish the coverage in force for a patient presenting or about to\n\npresent a claim.\n\nC.
