Stat. tit. 36, § 36-4602","heading":"Duties of Insurance Commissioner, State Board of Health,","body":"and Health Care for Uninsured Board.\n\nA. The Insurance Commissioner in collaboration with the\n\nOklahoma Health Care Authority shall advise and aid the Health Care\n\nfor the Uninsured Board (HUB) in its duties. The Insurance\n\nCommissioner is hereby authorized to promulgate such reasonable\n\nrules as are necessary to implement the purposes of this act.\n\nB. The State Board of Health shall direct the implementation\n\nand duties of the HUB to assist the Insurance Commissioner. The\n\nduties of the HUB shall be to:\n\n1. Advise, consult with, and make recommendations to the\n\nCommissioner as to the matters addressed in subsection C of this\n\nsection; and\n\n2. Assist and advise the Commissioner on such other matters as\n\nthe Commissioner may submit for recommendations to the State Board\n\nof Health.\n\nC. The Commissioner shall:\n\n1. Establish a system of certification for insurance programs\n\noffered in this state to be recommended by the HUB;\n\n2. Establish a system for the credentialing of insurance\n\nproducers who intend to market insurance programs certified by the\n\nstate in accordance with this section.\n\n3. Establish a system of counseling, including a website, for\n\nthose individuals who are without health insurance and are not\n\ncovered by Medicaid, that includes but is not limited to:\n\na. educating consumers about insurance programs certified\n\nby the state in accordance with this section,\n\nb. aiding consumers in choosing policies that cover\n\nmedically necessary services for that consumer, and\n\nc. educating consumers on how to utilize primary and\n\npreventative care in order to reduce the unnecessary\n\nutilization of services by the consumer; and\n\n4. Establish a system whereby if an individual qualifies for a\n\nsubsidy under the premium assistance program, established in Section\n\n1010.1 of Title 56 of the Oklahoma Statutes, that person is able to\n\nbecome enrolled through the HUB in conjunction with local, qualified\n\ninsurance producers.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ee06b61658e04a9fe88b17c0227a13e96cc699078249bfc5194bad0fb2813ae9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-4601","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-4603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
