Any health benefit plan, including the State and Education\n\nEmployees Group Health Insurance plan, that is offered, issued or\n\nrenewed in this state on or after January 1, 2005, that provides\n\nmedical and surgical benefits shall provide coverage for routine\n\nannual obstetrical/gynecological examinations.\n\nB. The benefit required to be provided by this section shall in\n\nno way diminish or limit diagnostic benefits otherwise allowable\n\nunder a health benefit plan.\n\nC. Nothing in this section shall be construed as requiring such\n\nroutine annual examination to be performed by an obstetrician,\n\ngynecologist, or obstetrician/gynecologist.\n\nD. As used in this section, “health benefit plan” means any\n\nplan or arrangement as defined in subsection C of Section 6060.4 of\n\nthis title, except that the term “health benefit plan” does not\n\ninclude policies or certificates issued to individuals or groups\n\nwith fewer than fifty employees.\n\nE.
