Stat. tit. 36, § 36-6060.6","heading":"Dental procedures for certain minor and severely","body":"disabled persons.\n\nA. Any health benefit plan that is offered, issued or renewed\n\nin this state on or after January 1, 1999, that provides\n\nhospitalization benefits shall provide coverage for anesthesia\n\nexpenses including anesthesia practitioner expenses for the\n\nadministration of the anesthesia, and hospital and ambulatory\n\nsurgical center expenses associated with any medically necessary\n\ndental procedure when provided to a covered person who is:\n\n1. Severely disabled; or\n\n2. a. A minor eight (8) years of age or under, and who has a\n\nmedical or emotional condition which requires\n\nhospitalization or general anesthesia for dental care,\n\nor\n\nb. A minor four (4) years of age or under, who in the\n\njudgment of the practitioner treating the child, is\n\nnot of sufficient emotional development to undergo a\n\nmedically necessary dental procedure without the use\n\nof anesthesia.\n\nB. A health benefit plan may require prior authorization for\n\neither inpatient or outpatient hospitalization for dental care in\n\nthe same manner that prior authorization is required for\n\nhospitalization for other covered diseases or conditions.\n\nC. Coverage provided for in subsection A of this section shall\n\nbe subject to the same annual deductibles, copayments or coinsurance\n\nlimits as established for all other covered benefits under the\n\nhealth benefit plan.\n\nD.
