Stat. tit. 36, § 36-6071","heading":"Payment of commissions to officers or directors of life","body":"insurance companies - Restrictions.\n\nNo life insurance company transacting business in this State\n\nshall pay, or contract to pay, directly or indirectly, to its\n\npresident, vice president, secretary, treasurer, actuary, medical\n\ndirector or other physician charged with the duty of examining risks\n\nor applications for insurance or to any officer of the company other\n\nthan a designated agency officer directly responsible for the\n\nproduction and maintenance of premium income, agent or solicitor,\n\nany commission or other compensation contingent upon the writing or\n\nprocuring of any policy of insurance in such company, or procuring\n\nan application therefor by any person whomsoever, or contingent upon\n\nthe payment of any renewal premium, or upon the assumption of any\n\nlife insurance risk by such company. This section shall not prevent\n\nthe payment or receipt of renewal or other deferred commissions to\n\nor by any person solely because such person has ceased to hold a\n\nlicense to act as an agent.
