Application for a license as an adjuster shall be made to\n\nthe Insurance Commissioner upon forms prescribed and furnished by\n\nthe Commissioner. As a part of and in connection with the\n\napplication, the applicant shall furnish such information concerning\n\nthe applicant's identity, personal history, business experience,\n\nbusiness record and such other pertinent information which the\n\nCommissioner shall reasonably require.\n\nB. Unless denied licensure pursuant to Section 6220 of this\n\ntitle, a nonresident applicant shall receive a nonresident adjuster\n\nlicense if:\n\n1. The applicant has passed an examination in the applicant’s\n\nhome state or in another state in which the applicant is currently\n\nlicensed and in good standing;\n\n2. The applicant is currently licensed and in good standing in\n\nthe home state of the applicant;\n\n3. The applicant has submitted the proper request for licensure\n\nand has paid the fees required by Section 6212 of this title; and\n\n4. The applicant’s home state awards nonresident adjuster\n\nlicenses to residents of this state on the same basis.\n\nC. If a nonresident applicant’s home state does not license or\n\nrequire an examination for an adjuster license, the adjuster may\n\ndeclare another state which has an examination requirement and in\n\nwhich the adjuster is licensed to be the home state. Should the\n\napplicant not hold an active adjuster license in his or her home\n\nstate or declared home state, the applicant shall pass the adjuster\n\nexamination of this state prior to receiving a nonresident adjuster\n\nlicense.\n\nD. An individual who is a resident of Canada shall not be\n\nlicensed pursuant to the Insurance Adjusters Licensing Act nor\n\ndesignate this state as the individual's home state, unless the\n\nindividual has successfully passed the adjuster examination and has\n\ncomplied with all applicable requirements of the Insurance Adjusters\n\nLicensing Act; except that any such applicant shall not be required\n\nto comply with paragraph 2 of subsection A of Section 6206 of this\n\ntitle or Section 6215 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9e7fa1f1e9ca97fe11f3fe4866b55578513702ee91ddf0216bd29e739fc6a271","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-6204.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-6206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
