Stat. tit. 36, § 36-6206","heading":"Evidence to be furnished for license - Certain personal","body":"information exempt from disclosure as public records - Mailing\n\naddresses.\n\nA. The Insurance Commissioner shall license as an adjuster only\n\nan individual who has fully complied with the provisions of the\n\nInsurance Adjusters Licensing Act, including the furnishing of\n\nevidence satisfactory to the Commissioner that the applicant:\n\n1. Is at least eighteen (18) years of age;\n\n2. Is a bona fide resident of this state or is a resident of a\n\nstate or country which permits adjusters who are residents of this\n\nstate to act as adjusters in such other state or country;\n\n3. If a nonresident of the United States, has complied with all\n\nfederal laws pertaining to employment and the transaction of\n\nbusiness in the United States;\n\n4. Is a trustworthy person;\n\n5. Has had experience or special education or training of\n\nsufficient duration and extent with reference to the handling of\n\nloss claims pursuant to insurance contracts to make the applicant\n\ncompetent to fulfill the responsibilities of an adjuster;\n\n6. Has successfully passed an examination as required by the\n\nCommissioner within two (2) years prior to date of application, or\n\nhas been exempted from examination, in accordance with the\n\nprovisions of Section 6208 of this title; and\n\n7. If the application is for a public adjuster’s license, the\n\napplicant has filed the bond required by Section 6214 of this title.\n\nB. Residence addresses and telephone listings, birth dates, and\n\nsocial security numbers for insurance adjusters and public adjusters\n\non file with the Insurance Department are exempt from disclosure as\n\npublic records. A separate business or mailing address as provided\n\nby the adjuster shall be considered a public record and upon request\n\nshall be disclosed. If an adjuster’s residence and business address\n\nor residence and business telephone number are the same, such\n\naddress or telephone number shall be considered a public record.\n\nC. The mailing address shall appear on all licenses of the\n\nlicensee, and the licensee shall promptly notify the Insurance\n\nCommissioner within thirty (30) days of any change in legal name or\n\npreferred mailing address, physical business address, e-mail\n\naddress, or physical residential address of the licensee. A change\n\nin legal name or address thirty (30) days after the change must\n\ninclude an administrative fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00). Failure to\n\nprovide acceptable notification of a change of legal name or address\n\nto the Insurance Commissioner within forty-five (45) days of the\n\ndate the administrative fee is assessed will result in penalties\n\npursuant to Section 6220 of this title.\n\nD.
