Stat. tit. 36, § 36-6220.1","heading":"Prohibition on pecuniary interest in construction","body":"businesses - Penalties - Exceptions.\n\nA. No adjuster may, directly or indirectly, own or have a\n\npecuniary interest in any business entity which provides\n\nconstruction or reconstruction related services on behalf of an\n\ninsurance claimant or insured for which the adjuster is providing\n\nservices, nor may the adjuster, directly or indirectly, own or have\n\na pecuniary interest in any other business entity which furnishes\n\nany supplies, material, services, or equipment purchased by or on\n\nbehalf of the claimant or insured in settlement of the claim, other\n\nthan usual and customary supplies, materials, services, or equipment\n\nutilized in the adjusting process.\n\nB. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall\n\nbe subject to disciplinary action or a civil fine, or both, as set\n\nforth in Section 6220 of this title.\n\nC. This section shall not apply to an adjuster providing\n\nservices on a claim which is located in a municipality having a\n\npopulation of less than six thousand (6,000) persons; provided,\n\nhowever, the adjuster shall give written disclosure of the potential\n\nconflict of interest to both the insured and insurer prior to the\n\nperformance of any adjuster services.\n\nD.
