Stat. tit. 36, § 36-6651","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Vehicle Protection Product Act:\n\n1. \"Administrator\" means a third party other than the warrantor\n\nwho is designated by the warrantor to be responsible for the\n\nadministration of vehicle protection product warranties;\n\n2. \"Commissioner\" means the Insurance Commissioner;\n\n3. \"Department\" means the Insurance Department;\n\n4. \"Incidental costs\" means expenses specified in the warranty\n\nincurred by the warranty holder related to the failure of the\n\nvehicle protection product to perform as provided in the warranty.\n\nIncidental costs may include insurance policy deductibles, rental\n\nvehicle charges, the difference between the actual value of the\n\nstolen vehicle at the time of theft and the cost of a replacement\n\nvehicle, vehicle excise taxes, vehicle registration fees,\n\ncertificate of title fees, transaction fees and mechanical\n\ninspection fees;\n\n5. \"Service contract\" means a contract or agreement as defined\n\nunder the Service Warranty Act in Title 15 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n6. \"Vehicle protection product\" means a vehicle protection\n\ndevice, system, or service that:\n\na. is installed on or applied to a vehicle,\n\nb. is designed to prevent loss or damage to a vehicle\n\nfrom a specific cause, and\n\nc. includes a written warranty.\n\nFor purposes of this section, the term vehicle protection\n\nproduct shall include alarm systems, body part marking products,\n\nsteering locks, window etch products, pedal and ignition locks, fuel\n\nand ignition kill switches, and electronic, radio and satellite\n\ntracking devices;\n\n7. \"Vehicle protection product warranty\" or \"warranty\" means a\n\nwritten agreement by a warrantor that provides if the vehicle\n\nprotection product fails to prevent loss or damage to a vehicle from\n\na specific cause, that the warrantor will pay to or on behalf of the\n\nwarranty holder specified incidental costs as a result of the\n\nfailure of the vehicle protection product to perform pursuant to the\n\nterms of the warranty;\n\n8. \"Vehicle protection product warrantor\" or \"warrantor\" means\n\na person who is contractually obligated to the warranty holder under\n\nthe terms of the vehicle protection product warranty agreement.\n\nWarrantor does not include an authorized insurer providing a\n\nwarranty reimbursement insurance policy;\n\n9. \"Warranty holder\" means a person who purchases a vehicle\n\nprotection product or who is a permitted transferee; and\n\n10. \"Warranty reimbursement insurance policy\" means a policy of\n\ninsurance that is issued to the vehicle protection product warrantor\n\nto provide reimbursement to the warrantor or to pay on behalf of the\n\nwarrantor all covered contractual obligations incurred by the\n\nwarrantor under the terms and conditions of the insured vehicle\n\nprotection product warranties issued by the warrantor.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"dd0812d4349cc7935c7948a033cc047f5369745bc41c55d3299c425ded31e0d0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-6650","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-6652"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
