Stat. tit. 36, § 36-6670","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this section through Section 6676 of this title:\n\n1. \"Commissioner\" means the Insurance Commissioner;\n\n2. \"Enrolled customer\" means a customer who elects coverage\n\nunder a portable electronics insurance policy issued to a vendor of\n\nportable electronics;\n\n3. \"Customer\" means a person who purchases portable electronics\n\nor services;\n\n4. \"Location\" means any physical location in the State of\n\nOklahoma or any website, call center site, or similar location\n\ndirected to residents of the State of Oklahoma;\n\n5. \"Portable electronics\" means electronic devices that are\n\nportable in nature, their accessories and services related to the\n\nuse of the device;\n\n6. \"Portable electronics insurance\" means insurance providing\n\ncoverage for the repair or replacement of portable electronics which\n\nmay provide coverage for portable electronics against any one or\n\nmore of the following causes of loss: loss, theft, inoperability due\n\nto mechanical failure, malfunction, damage or other similar causes\n\nof loss. \"Portable electronics insurance\" does not include:\n\na. a service contract governed by the Service Warranty\n\nAct,\n\nb. a policy of insurance covering a seller's or a\n\nmanufacturer's obligations under a warranty,\n\nc. a homeowner's, renter's, private passenger automobile,\n\ncommercial multi-peril, or similar policy, or\n\nd. a contract excluded from the definition of a service\n\nwarranty as set forth by subparagraphs a through g of\n\nparagraph 17 of Section 141.2 of Title 15 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes;\n\n7. \"Portable electronics transaction\" means:\n\na. the sale or lease of portable electronics by a vendor\n\nto a customer, or\n\nb. the sale of a service related to the use of portable\n\nelectronics by a vendor to a customer;\n\n8. \"Supervising entity\" means a business entity that is a\n\nlicensed insurer or insurance producer; and\n\n9. \"Vendor\" means a person in the business of engaging in\n\nportable electronics transactions directly or indirectly.","path":["OK Code","Title 36"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os36.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"aedb3528e44bca5384d5bac72d621babc8bb05fd65e635aae0e14af11fe9d6a0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-6661","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-36-36-6671"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
