A health maintenance organization is permitted, but not\n\nrequired, to adopt coordination of benefits provisions to avoid over\n\ninsurance and to provide for the orderly payment of claims when an\n\nenrollee is covered by two or more group health insurance or health\n\ncare plans.\n\nB. If a health maintenance organization adopts coordination of\n\nbenefits, the provisions thereof shall be consistent with the\n\ncoordination of benefits provisions that are in general use in the\n\nstate for coordinating coverage between two or more group health\n\ninsurance or health care plans.\n\nC. To the extent necessary for a health maintenance\n\norganization to meet its obligations as a secondary carrier under\n\nthe rules for coordination, a health maintenance organization may\n\nmake payments for services that are:\n\n1. Received from nonparticipating providers;\n\n2. Provided outside its service areas; or\n\n3.
