Stat. tit. 36, § 36-702","heading":"\"Life insurance\" defined","body":"\"Life insurance\" is insurance on human lives and insurance\n\nappertaining thereto or connected therewith. The transacting of\n\nlife insurance includes the granting of endowment benefits,\n\nadditional benefits in the event of death or dismemberment by\n\naccident or accidental means, additional benefits in the event of\n\nthe disability of the insured, optional modes of settlement of\n\nproceeds of life insurance, and additional benefits providing\n\nacceleration of life or endowment or annuity benefits in advance of\n\nthe time they would otherwise be payable, as an indemnity for long-\n\nterm care which is certified or ordered by a physician, including\n\nbut not limited to, professional nursing care, medical care\n\nexpenses, custodial nursing care, nonnursing custodial care provided\n\nin a nursing home or at a residence of the insured or providing such\n\nacceleration upon the occurrence of a castastrophic disease or\n\ndiseases as designated and defined by the policy.
