Individuals scheduled to appear for jury service have the\n\nright to postpone the date of their initial appearance for jury\n\nservice one time only. When requested, postponements shall be\n\ngranted, provided that:\n\n1. The juror has not previously been granted a postponement;\n\n2. The prospective juror appears in person or contacts the\n\nclerk of the court by telephone, electronic mail, or in writing to\n\nrequest a postponement; and\n\n3. Prior to the grant of a postponement with the concurrence of\n\nthe clerk of the court, the prospective juror fixes a date certain\n\non which he or she will appear for jury service that is not more\n\nthan six (6) months after the date on which the prospective juror\n\noriginally was called to serve and on which date the court will be\n\nin session unless the prospective juror is permanently excused.\n\nB. A subsequent request to postpone jury service may be\n\napproved by a judicial officer only in the event of an extreme\n\nemergency, such as a death in the family, sudden grave illness, or a\n\nnatural disaster or a national emergency in which the prospective\n\njuror is personally involved, that could not have been anticipated\n\nat the time the initial postponement was granted.
