A member of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission shall not\n\naccept any gift, loan, entertainment or favor from any occupation or\n\norganization licensee, except such suitable facilities and services\n\nwithin the enclosure of an organization licensee as may be required\n\nby the member to facilitate the proper performance of his or her\n\nduties. A member of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, other\n\nthan a member required by the provisions of Section 201 of this\n\ntitle to be experienced in the horse industry, shall not accept any\n\ncompensation or service from any occupation or organization\n\nlicensee, except such suitable facilities and services within the\n\nenclosure of an organization licensee as may be required by the\n\nmember to facilitate the proper performance of his or her duties.\n\nB. No member of the Commission or Commission employee shall\n\nplace any wagers on any horse race over which the Commission has\n\njurisdiction.\n\nC. Members of the Commission and members of their immediate\n\nfamilies, and Commission employees and members of their immediate\n\nfamilies are prohibited from receiving purse supplements, stakes,\n\nrewards, stallion awards, broodmare awards, or breeders awards of\n\nany kind, or marketing, promotion, or advertising monies of any kind\n\nfrom the Oklahoma Breeding Development Fund Special Account\n\nadministered by the Commission pursuant to Section 208.3 of this\n\ntitle. \"Immediate family\" has the meaning provided by Rule 257:1-1-\n\n2 of the Rules of the Ethics Commission, Chapter 62, App. of Title\n\n74 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nD. Nothing in this section shall prohibit members of the\n\nCommission, who are required by the provisions of Section 201 of\n\nthis title to be experienced in the horse industry, from receiving\n\npurses for participating horses from an organization licensee.\n\nE. Provided, any member of the Commission who has an ownership\n\ninterest in any horse shall be prohibited from participating in the\n\ndiscussion on, voting on, influencing or attempting to influence the\n\nofficial action of the Commission in any matter affecting the\n\neligibility of such horse to participate in any race or which\n\ndetermines the amount or receipt of any purse by the Commission\n\nmember or any member of the family of the Commission member.\n\nA commissioner shall be eligible to participate in the discussion\n\non, vote on, influence or attempt to influence the official action\n\nof the Commission if the only benefit to accrue to the Commissioner\n\nor any member of the Commissioner’s family is a benefit which\n\naccrues to the Commissioner or a member of the Commissioner’s family\n\nas a result of being a member of a large class to no greater extent\n\nthan could reasonably be foreseen to accrue to all other members of\n\nthe large class.","path":["OK Code","Title 3A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os3A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2fff7d15562ca296d272c721f331a7caa025c4765a0c94b11f0f0902539dbd39","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-3a-3a-203","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-3a-3a-203.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
