Player terminals used in connection with electronic games\n\nshall conform to the following standards:\n\n1. No player terminal shall be capable of being used as a\n\nstand-alone unit for the purposes of engaging in any game not\n\npermitted by this act;\n\n2. In addition to a video monitor or other electromechanical\n\ndisplay, each player terminal may have one or more of the following:\n\na printer, graphics and signage;\n\n3. Each player terminal may have one or more of the following:\n\nelectronic buttons, touch screen capability, and a mechanical,\n\nelectromechanical or electronic means of activating the game and\n\nproviding player input, including a means for making player\n\nselections and choices in games;\n\n4. Each player terminal shall have a nonvolatile backup memory\n\nor its equivalent, which shall be maintained in a secure compartment\n\non each player terminal for the purpose of storing and preserving a\n\nredundant set of critical data which has been error checked in\n\naccordance with this act, and which data shall include, at a\n\nminimum, the following player terminal information:\n\na. electronic meters required by paragraph 7 of this\n\nsubsection,\n\nb. recall of all wagers and other information associated\n\nwith the last ten (10) plays, and\n\nc. error conditions that may have occurred on the player\n\nterminal;\n\n5. An on/off switch that controls the electrical current that\n\nsupplies power to the player terminal, which must be located in a\n\nsecure place that is readily accessible within the interior of the\n\nplayer terminal;\n\n6. The operation of each player terminal must not be adversely\n\ncompromised or affected by static discharge, liquid spills, or\n\nelectromagnetic interference;\n\n7. A player terminal must have electronic accounting meters\n\nwhich have tally totals to a minimum of seven (7) digits and be\n\ncapable of rolling over when the maximum value of at least 9,999,999\n\nis reached. The player terminal must provide a means for on-demand\n\ndisplay of the electronic meters via a key switch or other secure\n\nmethod on the exterior of the machine. Electronic meters on each\n\nplayer terminal for each of the following data categories are\n\nrequired:\n\na. credits, or equivalent monetary units, deposited on a\n\ncumulative basis on that terminal,\n\nb. if a player terminal offers more than one electronic\n\nbonanza-style bingo game or electronic amusement game\n\nfor play, then for each game, the meter shall record\n\nthe number of credits, or equivalent monetary units,\n\nwagered and won for each game,\n\nc. hand-paid and progressive jackpots paid for that\n\nterminal, which must include the cumulative amounts\n\npaid by an attendant for any such jackpot not\n\notherwise metered pursuant to subparagraph b of this\n\nparagraph,\n\nd. the number of electronic games played on the terminal,\n\nand\n\ne. the number of times the cabinet door is opened or\n\naccessed;\n\n8. Under no circumstances shall the player terminal electronic\n\naccounting meters be capable of being automatically reset or\n\ncleared, whether due to an error in any aspect of its or a game’s\n\noperation or otherwise. All meter readings must be recorded and\n\ndated both before and after an electronic accounting meter is\n\ncleared;\n\n9. At a minimum, each player terminal shall have the following\n\ngame information available for display on the video screen and/or\n\ndisplayed on the player terminal itself, in a location conspicuous\n\nto the player:\n\na. the rules of the game being played,\n\nb. the maximum and minimum cost of a wager, purchase or\n\nplay activation and the amount of credits, or cash\n\nequivalents, which may be won for each game offered\n\nthrough that terminal,\n\nc. the player’s credit balance,\n\nd. the outcome of the game then being played, and\n\ne. any prize won on the game then being played;\n\n10. The video screen or other means for displaying game rules,\name being played,\n\nb. the maximum and minimum cost of a wager, purchase or\n\nplay activation and the amount of credits, or cash\n\nequivalents, which may be won for each game offered\n\nthrough that terminal,\n\nc. the player’s credit balance,\n\nd. the outcome of the game then being played, and\n\ne. any prize won on the game then being played;\n\n10. The video screen or other means for displaying game rules,\n\noutcomes and other game information shall be kept under a glass or\n\nother transparent substance which places a barrier between the\n\nplayer and the actual surface of the display. At no time may\n\nstickers or other removable media be placed on the player terminal’s\n\nface for purposes of displaying rules or payouts;\n\n11. No hardware switches may be installed on a player terminal\n\nor any associated equipment which may affect the outcome or payout\n\nof any game for which the player terminal is used. Switches may be\n\ninstalled to control the ergonomics of the player terminal; and\n\n12. Where the electronic game system or components are linked\n\nwith one another in a local network for progressive jackpot,\n\nfunction sharing, aggregate prizes or other purposes, communication\n\nprotocols must be used which ensure that erroneous data or signals\n\nwill not adversely affect the operations of any such system or\n\ncomponents.","path":["OK Code","Title 3A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os3A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b5e82f892d98837c3d8f030503f3122bed6073759ed7883a5a66d8b232e6d0ea","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-3a-3a-274","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-3a-3a-276"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
