There is hereby re-created, until July 1, 2027, in\n\naccordance with the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the Oklahoma State Athletic\n\nCommission, which shall be composed of nine (9) members appointed by\n\nthe Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The member\n\nof the Commission initially appointed pursuant to this act shall\n\nserve a term of three (3) years that shall expire on June 30, 2006.\n\nMembers appointed to the Commission shall serve for terms of three\n\n(3) years. Terms of office shall expire on June 30. All vacancies\n\nand unexpired terms shall be filled in the same manner as the\n\noriginal appointment and within sixty (60) days from the date of the\n\nvacancy. Members may be removed by the Governor for incompetence,\n\nwillful neglect of duty, corruption in office, or malfeasance in\n\noffice.\n\nB. Members appointed to the Commission shall reside in this\n\nstate and shall have the following qualifications:\n\n1. Two members shall have experience as a professional\n\ncombative sports practitioner, other than as a professional wrestler\n\nor in professional combative sports promotions;\n\n2. One member shall have experience as a professional wrestler\n\nor in professional wrestling promotions;\n\n3. One member shall have experience in sports medicine;\n\n4. One member shall have experience in the cable television\n\nbusiness; and\n\n5. Four members shall represent the public at large as lay\n\nmembers.\n\nC. No member of the Commission or any person related to a\n\nmember within the third degree by consanguinity or affinity shall\n\npromote, sponsor, or have any financial interest in the promotion or\n\nsponsorship of any professional combative sports event or amateur\n\nmixed martial arts event while a member of the Commission.\n\nD. The members of the Commission shall elect from their\n\nmembership a chair and vice-chair to serve for one-year terms. A\n\nmajority of the members shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of\n\nconducting the business of the Commission. The Commission shall\n\nmeet at least quarterly, and special meetings may be called by the\n\nchair.\n\nE. The Commission shall comply with the provisions of the\n\nOklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, and the\n\nAdministrative Procedures Act.\n\nF. All members of the Commission and such employees as\n\ndetermined by the Commission shall be bonded as required by Sections\n\n85.58Q through 85.58V of Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nG.
