Stat. tit. 4, § 4-136","heading":"Assessment of damages - Filing - Review - Bond -","body":"Supersedeas - Delivery of stock to owner appealing - Certification\n\nof papers.\n\nThe county sheriff shall make his assessment in writing and file\n\nthe same with the county clerk, to be kept in his office. Any\n\nperson aggrieved by the action of the county sheriff under this\n\narticle, may appeal therefrom, to the district court. The person\n\nappealing shall file with the county sheriff a bond, in a penalty\n\ndouble the value of the property distrained, or if the value of the\n\nproperty exceed the amount of damage claimed, then in double the\n\namount of damages, with good and sufficient sureties, to be approved\n\nby the county sheriff, and from and after the filing of the appeal\n\nbond, the same shall operate as a supersedeas.
