Stat. tit. 4, § 4-196","heading":"Filing of certificate of service - Lien on offspring -","body":"Notice to third parties - Lien without certificate.\n\nWhen the said terms of such service by any such animal,\n\npublished or posted as provided in the next preceding section, shall\n\nprovide that the foal or other product of such service will be held\n\nfor the money due for the service of such stallion, jack or bull,\n\nthen and in that event the owner or keeper of any such animal may\n\nfile, with the register of deeds of the county in which such animal\n\nis kept for service, a certificate signed by the owner of the female\n\nbred, or his representative, also by the owner or keeper of the male\n\nanimal rendering the service, stating the terms of such service, a\n\ndescription of the female served, also a description of the male\n\nrendering the service, the date of service and acceptance of terms\n\nby owner of female; and such certificate, if filed within three (3)\n\nmonths after the rendering of such service, shall become and\n\ncontinue a lien on the offspring for the period of six (6) months\n\nafter the birth thereof, and the filing of such certificate shall be\n\nconstructive notice to any third party of the existence of the lien:\n\nProvided, that as between the owner of any stallion, jack or bull,\n\nas provided in the preceding section, and the owner of any female\n\nserved, a lien shall exist notwithstanding no certificate as herein\n\nprovided shall be filed or notice given as in this article provided.","path":["OK Code","Title 4"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os4.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"bb86ebd8b43c9260eda13e2698f2c6b007e27dda5ebbbbf75ca731fbaa9bcbaa","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-4-4-195","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-4-4-197"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
