Stat. tit. 4, § 4-504","heading":"Carbon monoxide chambers - Equipment required","body":"Carbon monoxide chambers shall be equipped with:\n\n1. Internal lighting and a viewport providing direct visual\n\nobservation of any animal within the chamber;\n\n2. Compressed cylinder gas of commercial grade adequate to\n\nachieve a uniform carbon monoxide gas concentration throughout the\n\nchamber that induces unconsciousness within three (3) minutes after\n\nany animal is placed in the chamber;\n\n3. A suitable gauge or gas concentration indicator or recording\n\ndevice making possible easy and instantaneous visual determination\n\nof the carbon monoxide concentration in the chamber;\n\n4. A means of keeping the animals in the chamber in separate\n\ncompartments;\n\n5. An exhaust fan connected by a gas-tight duct to the\n\noutdoors, capable of completely evacuating the gas from the chamber\n\nbefore it is opened after each use, for protection of personnel.\n\nThere shall also be a gas analyzer located in the room that is\n\ncapable of warning personnel of hazardous concentrations while the\n\nchamber is being used.
