Stat. tit. 40, § 40-1-214","heading":"Institution of higher education","body":"INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION. \"Institution of higher\n\neducation\" means an educational institution which:\n\n(1) Admits as regular students only individuals having a\n\ncertificate of graduation from a high school, or the recognized\n\nequivalent of such certificate;\n\n(2) Is legally authorized in this state to provide a program of\n\neducation beyond high school;\n\n(3) Provides an educational program for which it awards a\n\nbachelor's or higher degree, or provides a program which is\n\nacceptable for full credit toward such degree, a program of\n\npostgraduate or postdoctoral studies, or a program of training to\n\nprepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation;\n\nand\n\n(4) Is a public or other nonprofit institution.\n\nNotwithstanding any of the foregoing provisions of this\n\nsubsection, all colleges and universities in this state are\n\ninstitutions of higher education for purposes of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2e299f779cb6c18c9f298de2d7e32f69a86697447176a213d90738ee918ad9c0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-1-210","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-1-217"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
