Stat. tit. 40, § 40-1-231","heading":"Limitations on duration of benefits","body":"LIMITATIONS ON DURATION OF BENEFITS.\n\nA. For purposes of this section, \"state average unemployment\n\ninsurance claims\" means the weekly average of Continued UI Claims\n\nfor the thirteen (13) weeks beginning with the first file week\n\nending in the month of July in the calendar year prior to the\n\ncurrent calendar year as published by the Oklahoma Employment\n\nSecurity Commission or the agency responsible for collecting and\n\npublishing unemployment insurance claims data.\n\nB. On January 1, 2025, for unemployment compensation claims\n\nsubmitted during a calendar year, the duration of benefits is\n\nlimited to:\n\n1. a. Sixteen (16) weeks if the state's average unemployment\n\ninsurance claims are at or below five thousand (5,000)\n\nclaims,\n\nb. An additional two (2) weeks shall be added in addition\n\nto the sixteen (16) weeks for each fifteen thousand\n\n(15,000) increments if the state's average\n\nunemployment insurance claims are above five thousand\n\n(5,000) claims, or\n\nc. Up to the maximum of twenty (20) weeks; or\n\n2. In the event that the weekly claims data of continued claims\n\nadministered by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission exceeds\n\nforty thousand (40,000) claims, the maximum duration of benefits\n\nshall immediately be raised to twenty-six (26) weeks. This maximum\n\nbenefit duration shall be in place until the weekly claims data of\n\ncontinued UI claims falls below forty thousand (40,000) claims at\n\nwhich time the maximum duration of benefits shall be determined\n\npursuant to paragraph 1 of subsection B of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d9117790cd74a3469f9828e62435d92214c0fa149a629ad787f1f47e72742229","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-1-230","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-1-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
