Stat. tit. 40, § 40-142.6","heading":"Committee of Alternative Fuels Technician Examiners -","body":"Members - Terms - Vacancies - Duties - Expenses - Quorum.\n\nA. There is hereby established the Committee of Alternative\n\nFuels Technician Examiners which shall consist of eight (8) members.\n\nAll members of the Committee shall be residents of this state.\n\nB. Five voting members of the Committee shall be appointed by\n\nthe Commissioner of Labor as follows:\n\n1. Three members shall be alternative fuels technicians\n\nselected from a list of names submitted by the State Board of Career\n\nand Technology Education, with at least one member being an\n\nalternative fuels equipment technician and at least one member being\n\nan alternative fuels compression technician;\n\n2. One member shall be a person involved in compressed natural\n\ngas technology in an oil and/or gas industry; and\n\n3. One member shall be a person involved in liquefied petroleum\n\ngas technology in an oil and/or gas industry.\n\nC. Two additional voting members shall be appointed by the\n\nCommissioner of Labor, one of whom shall be an electric vehicle\n\ntechnician, and one of whom shall be a person involved in\n\nmanufacturing, conversion, or research in the electric vehicle\n\nindustry.\n\nD. All members shall each have at least two (2) years of active\n\nexperience in alternative fuels technology. The terms of the voting\n\nmembers initially appointed to the Committee shall be staggered as\n\nfollows:\n\n1. One alternative fuels technician shall be appointed for a\n\nterm of two (2) years;\n\n2. One alternative fuels technician shall be appointed for a\n\nterm of three (3) years;\n\n3. One alternative fuels technician shall be appointed for a\n\nterm of four (4) years;\n\n4. One person involved in compressed natural gas technology in\n\nan oil and/or gas industry shall be appointed for a term of three\n\n(3) years;\n\n5. One person involved in liquefied petroleum gas technology in\n\nan oil and/or gas industry shall be appointed for a term of four (4)\n\nyears;\n\n6. One electric vehicle technician shall be appointed for a\n\nterm of two (2) years; and\n\n7. One person involved in manufacturing, conversion, or\n\nresearch in the electric vehicle industry shall be appointed for a\n\nterm of three (3) years.\n\nThereafter, each voting member of the Committee shall be\n\nappointed for a term of five (5) years, or until their successors\n\nare appointed and qualified.\n\nThe nonvoting member shall be designated by the Commissioner of\n\nLabor to serve as Recording Secretary to the Committee.\n\nE. Vacancies which may occur in the membership of the Committee\n\nshall be filled by appointment of the Commissioner of Labor. Each\n\nperson who has been appointed to fill a vacancy shall serve for the\n\nremainder of the term for which the member such person succeeds was\n\nappointed and until a successor has been appointed and has\n\nqualified. Members of the Committee may be removed from office by\n\nthe Commissioner of Labor for cause in the manner provided by law\n\nfor the removal of officers not subject to impeachment.\n\nF. The Committee shall assist and advise the Commissioner of\n\nLabor on all matters relating to the formulation of rules and\n\nstandards in accordance with the Alternative Fuels Technician\n\nCertification Act. The Commissioner of Labor or designee shall\n\nadminister the examinations of applicants for certification as\n\nalternative fuels equipment technicians, alternative fuels\n\ncompression technicians, and electric vehicle technicians provided\n\nthat such examinations shall be in accordance with the provisions of\n\nthe Alternative Fuels Technician Certification Act.\n\nG. All members of the Committee shall be reimbursed for\n\nexpenses incurred while in the performance of their duties in\n\naccordance with the State Travel Reimbursement Act.\n\nH.
