Stat. tit. 40, § 40-160","heading":"Mandated minimum wage - Minimum number of vacation or sick","body":"leave days.\n\nAs a matter of public policy and due to an overriding state\n\ninterest, the Legislature hereby occupies and preempts the entire\n\nfield of legislation in this state touching in any way mandated\n\nminimum wage and employee benefits regarding mandatory minimum\n\nnumber of vacation or sick leave days. Notwithstanding any\n\nexemption from state statutes previously allowed for certain\n\nmunicipalities pursuant to Section 1-101 of Title 11 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, no municipality or other political subdivision of this\n\nstate shall establish a mandatory minimum number of vacation or sick\n\nleave days, whether paid or unpaid, or a minimum wage rate which an\n\nemployer would be required to pay or grant employees. Any existing\n\nor future ordinances, orders or regulations in this field, except as\n\nmay be specifically provided in this section, are null and void.\n\nThe provisions of this section shall not affect the minimum\n\nnumber of vacation or sick leave days, whether paid or unpaid,\n\nauthorized by a municipality for its employees as a benefit of\n\nemployment.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fd55dec23f0933b8ccbb27730e5194bc1b7e19102146421ca6897e6d78ed4873","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-142.9","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-165.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
