Stat. tit. 40, § 40-165.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used only in Sections 165.1 through 165.11 of this title:\n\n1. \"Employer\" means every individual, partnership, firm,\n\nassociation, corporation, the legal representative of a deceased\n\nindividual, or the receiver, trustee or successor of an individual,\n\nfirm, partnership, association or corporation, employing any person\n\nin this state;\n\n2. \"Employee\" means any person permitted to work by an\n\nemployer;\n\n3. \"Exempt employee\" means those management level employees\n\nexempt under the provisions of Section 213 of the Fair Labor\n\nStandards Act, as amended, 29 U.S.C. Section 213, from the\n\nprovisions of Sections 206 and 207 of said act;\n\n4. \"Financial institution\" means a bank, savings bank, savings\n\nand loan association or credit union whose deposits are insured by\n\nthe Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the National Credit Union\n\nAdministration, or any successor institution;\n\n5. \"Payroll card\" means a card or other device used by an\n\nemployee to access wages from a payroll card account;\n\n6. \"Payroll card account\" means a prepaid account that is\n\ndirectly or indirectly established through an employer and to which\n\ntransfers of the employee's wages, salary, or other compensation are\n\nmade on a recurring basis;\n\n7. \"Wages\" means compensation owed by an employer to an\n\nemployee for labor or services rendered including salaries,\n\ncommissions, holiday and vacation pay, overtime pay, severance or\n\ndismissal pay, bonuses and other similar advantages agreed upon\n\nbetween the employer and the employee, which are earned and due, or\n\nprovided by the employer to his or her employees in an established\n\npolicy, whether the amount is determined on a time, task, piece,\n\ncommission or other basis of calculation;\n\n8. \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Labor; and\n\n9. \"Bona fide disagreement\" means an honest and sincere belief\n\nor assertion based on a dispute of a determinative fact or\n\napplication of law under this title which is supported by relevant\n\nevidence.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3dbfdafa3a1d2dd345479a68febd7678c73f3cd26b064841db6f12951b09d277","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-160","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-165.10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
