Stat. tit. 40, § 40-197.11","heading":"Exceptions","body":"The Commissioner, to the extent necessary in order to prevent\n\ncurtailment of opportunities for employment, shall by regulations\n\nprovide for:\n\n(a) the employment of learners, of apprentices, and of\n\nmessengers employed primarily in delivering letters and messages,\n\nunder special certificates issued pursuant to regulations of the\n\nCommissioner, at such wages lower than the minimum wage applicable\n\nand subject to such limitations as to time, number, proportion, and\n\nlength of service as the Commissioner shall prescribe; and\n\n(b) the employment of individuals whose earning capacity is\n\nimpaired by age or physical or mental deficiency or injury, under\n\nspecial certificates issued by the Commissioner, at such wages lower\n\nthan the minimum wage and for such period as shall be fixed in such\n\ncertificates; and\n\n(c) any individual employed by any state, county, city, town,\n\nmunicipal corporation or quasi-municipal corporation, political\n\nsubdivision, or any instrumentality thereof; and\n\n(d) students and regular attendants at any institution of\n\nhigher learning, either public or private.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8dd826e80ffddf3a1723abb08274be4912856155f56e2beb3bcd1c2bb04aa1f5","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-197.10","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-197.12"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
