Stat. tit. 40, § 40-197.7","heading":"Investigation of complaints","body":"Upon verified complaint by an employee or former employee that\n\nan employer has violated the provisions of Section 197.5 of this\n\ntitle by failure to pay the minimum wage thereby established, the\n\nCommissioner, or his authorized representative, is hereby empowered\n\nto make such investigation as deemed necessary to ascertain the\n\nfacts concerning such charge. The Commissioner shall have the power\n\nto administer oaths and affirmations, require sworn statements,\n\ncertify to official acts, and issue subpoenas to compel the\n\nattendance of witnesses and the production of books, papers,\n\ncorrespondence memoranda, and other records deemed necessary as\n\nevidence in connection with the investigation of any alleged\n\nviolation of Section 197.5 of this title.
