Stat. tit. 40, § 40-451","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Asbestos Control Act:\n\n1. \"Friable asbestos material\" means any material that contains\n\nasbestos of more than one percent (1%) or more that can be crumbled,\n\npulverized or reduced to powder by hand pressure;\n\n2. \"Friable asbestos material abatement\" means the removal,\n\nencapsulation or enclosure of friable asbestos containing material;\n\n3. \"Friable asbestos material encapsulation\" means the\n\napplication of a bonding agent called a sealant, which penetrates\n\nand hardens the asbestos material or covers the surface of the\n\nmaterial with a protective coating, thus preventing fiber release\n\nfrom the asbestos material;\n\n4. \"Friable asbestos material removal\" means the actual\n\nphysical removal of any friable asbestos containing material from a\n\nfacility, when the asbestos is either attached to or detached from\n\nany device or structure;\n\n5. \"Contractor\" means any public or private entity that engages\n\nin friable asbestos containing material abatement in any facility in\n\nthis state except private residences or apartment houses of less\n\nthan six family units;\n\n6. \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Labor.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"62765034f9b65064043c8302e9985dc002770eef8b8d9dd27bbbaad441b9eee0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-450","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-452"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
