Stat. tit. 40, § 40-800.1","heading":"Occupational Licensing Advisory Commission –","body":"Dissolution.\n\nThere is hereby created the Occupational Licensing Advisory\n\nCommission.\n\nThe Commission shall consist of twelve (12) members to be\n\nappointed and serve as follows:\n\n1. The Commissioner of Labor shall serve coterminous with his\n\nor her office;\n\n2. Two members of the House of Representatives shall be\n\nappointed by the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.\n\nEach member shall serve an initial term of three (3) years;\n\n3. One member of the House of Representatives shall be\n\nappointed by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives,\n\nwho shall serve an initial term of two (2) years;\n\n4. Two members of the Senate shall be appointed by the Majority\n\nLeader of the Senate. Each member shall serve an initial term of\n\nthree (3) years;\n\n5. One member of the Senate shall be appointed by the Minority\n\nLeader of the Senate, who shall serve an initial term of two (2)\n\nyears;\n\n6. The Chief Information Officer of the Office of Management\n\nand Enterprise Services shall serve coterminous with his or her\n\nposition;\n\n7. Three members shall be appointed by the Governor, who shall\n\nrepresent an occupation or profession licensed in the state, and who\n\nshall each serve an initial term of one year. One appointee shall\n\nbe a member of the medical community, which may include but is not\n\nlimited to a licensed physician, pharmacist or psychologist. One\n\nappointee shall be a member of a trade profession, which may include\n\nbut is not limited to a licensed alarm or locksmith professional or\n\nelectrician. One appointee shall be a member of the business\n\ncommunity, which may include but is not limited to a licensed public\n\naccountant or member of the real estate industry; and\n\n8. One member shall be appointed by the Governor who shall\n\nrepresent a not-for-profit organization that advocates for low-\n\nincome persons or disadvantaged persons and who shall serve an\n\ninitial term of one year.\n\nThe Commission shall be subject to the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act\n\nand the Oklahoma Open Records Act.\n\nDuring membership on the Commission, no appointed member shall\n\nserve on any board, agency, committee or commission that regulates\n\nor governs the occupation or profession such member is appointed to\n\nrepresent.\n\nMembers shall serve staggered three-year terms, except for the\n\ninitial term of office. Upon the expiration of a member's term of\n\noffice, such member may be reappointed. No member shall serve more\n\nthan two consecutive full three-year terms. Any member vacancy\n\nshall be filled in the same manner by the appointing authority for\n\nthe unexpired term. A member may be removed by either the\n\nappointing authority or a majority of the Commission members for\n\nfailure to attend meetings or for cause.\n\nThe Commissioner of Labor, or his or her designee, shall chair\n\neach meeting. The Department of Labor shall provide staff and\n\nadministrative support to the Commission.\n\nSeven members shall constitute a quorum for purposes of\n\nconducting the business of the Commission. Meetings shall be called\n\nby the chair and may be held by electronic media or in any location\n\ndeemed appropriate by the chair.\n\nThe purpose of the Commission is to conduct a review of each\n\noccupational or professional licensing act in this state not less\n\nthan once every four (4) years and make recommendations to the\n\nLegislature. The first meeting of the Commission shall be held\n\nbefore September 30, 2018, to develop a four-year schedule showing\n\nwhen each licensing act will be reviewed. Any new licensing act or\n\nnew category of license enacted by the Legislature for regulation by\n\nan existing licensing board, agency or commission shall be added to\n\nthe four-year schedule and shall be initially reviewed within ninety\nture. The first meeting of the Commission shall be held\n\nbefore September 30, 2018, to develop a four-year schedule showing\n\nwhen each licensing act will be reviewed. Any new licensing act or\n\nnew category of license enacted by the Legislature for regulation by\n\nan existing licensing board, agency or commission shall be added to\n\nthe four-year schedule and shall be initially reviewed within ninety\n\n(90) days of enactment.\n\nAnnually the Commission shall hold at least one public meeting\n\nto present its findings on any occupational or professional license\n\nit has reviewed. At the public meeting, the Commission shall allow\n\npublic comments, make recommendations, and may vote whether to\n\nrecommend to the Legislature that such license be maintained,\n\nmodified, or repealed. The results of any public meeting held for\n\nthe purpose of making legislative recommendations shall be provided\n\nin a written report to the Governor, President Pro Tempore of the\n\nSenate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives prior to the\n\nlegislative deadline set for requesting legislation for the upcoming\n\nlegislative session. The report shall be made available on the\n\nDepartment of Labor's website for public inspection.\n\nThe provisions of this section shall cease to have the force and\n\neffect of law and the Commission shall be dissolved by operation of\n\nlaw on December 31, 2022.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"619de27fd6d8b3cace6d2f1d917781c700a4b3872586279544f290b6476d311b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-800","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
