Stat. tit. 40, § 40-902","heading":"Creation of Oklahoma Workforce Commission","body":"There is hereby created the Oklahoma Workforce Commission. The\n\npurpose of the Commission is to coordinate the development of the\n\nworkforce needed to grow Oklahoma’s economy and Oklahomans’\n\nprosperity. To accomplish this purpose, the Commission is empowered\n\nto the fullest extent permitted by law to coordinate the funding and\n\nactivities of each element of the state’s workforce development\n\nprograms, systems, and entities; to achieve better alignment,\n\naccountability, and results for the state’s workforce development\n\nefforts; and to act as the principal point of contact regarding\n\nworkforce development for public officials, businesses, and the\n\npublic. In carrying out its work, the Commission shall consult\n\nofficials, leaders, and experts in workforce development including,\n\nbut not limited to, state and local agencies, departments,\n\neducational institutions, boards, commissions, the private sector,\n\nand other leaders and experts. The Commission shall convene\n\nadvisory committees consisting of relevant state and local agencies,\n\ndepartments, educational institutions, boards, commissions, the\n\nprivate sector, and other officials as the Commission deems\n\nappropriate. It is the intent of the Legislature that the\n\nCommission shall serve as a coordinating body for workforce\n\ndevelopment entities in the state and that workforce development\n\nentities will fully participate in and cooperate with the\n\nCommission’s activities, but the Commission shall not directly\n\nexercise governing control of state and local agencies, departments,\n\neducational institutions, boards, commissions, and other workforce\n\ndevelopment entities except as otherwise prescribed by law.","path":["OK Code","Title 40"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os40.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"257c7d3bc976bc6e38b3536d99e9973abf33563e004a86782c3492f7c7c0c18b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-901","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-40-40-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
