Stat. tit. 41, § 41-129","heading":"Tenant's breach of rental agreement - Wrongful","body":"abandonment.\n\nA. Unless otherwise agreed, use by the tenant of the dwelling\n\nunit for any purpose other than as his place of abode shall\n\nconstitute a breach of the rental agreement and shall be grounds for\n\nterminating the rental agreement.\n\nB. If the tenant wrongfully quits and abandons the dwelling\n\nunit during the term of the tenancy, the landlord shall make\n\nreasonable efforts to make the dwelling unit available for rental.\n\nIf the landlord rents the dwelling unit for a term beginning before\n\nthe expiration of the rental agreement, said rental agreement\n\nterminates as of the commencement date of the new tenancy. If the\n\nlandlord fails to use reasonable efforts to make the dwelling unit\n\navailable for rental or if the landlord accepts the abandonment as a\n\nsurrender, the rental agreement is deemed to be terminated by the\n\nlandlord as of the date the landlord has notice of the abandonment.\n\nIf, after making reasonable efforts to make the dwelling unit\n\navailable for rental after the abandonment, the landlord fails to\n\nrerent the premises for a fair rental during the term, the tenant\n\nshall be liable for the entire rent or the difference in rental,\n\nwhichever may be appropriate, for the remainder of the term.
