Stat. tit. 42, § 42-142","heading":"Statement to be filed","body":"Any person claiming a lien as aforesaid shall file in the office\n\nof the county clerk of the county in which the land is situated a\n\nstatement setting forth the amount claimed and the items thereof as\n\nnearly as practicable, the names of the owner, the contractor, the\n\nclaimant, and a legal description of the property subject to the\n\nlien, verified by affidavit. Such statement shall be filed within\n\nfour (4) months after the date upon which material or equipment used\n\non said land was last furnished or labor last performed under\n\ncontract as aforesaid; and if the claim be for the planting of any\n\ntrees, vines, plants, or hedge, such statement shall be filed within\n\nfour (4) months from such planting. Immediately upon the receipt of\n\nsuch statement the county clerk shall enter a record of the same\n\nagainst the tract index and in a book kept for that purpose, to be\n\ncalled the mechanics' lien journal, which shall be ruled off into\n\nseparate columns, with headings as follows: \"When filed\", \"Name of\n\nowner\", \"Name of claimant\", \"Amount claimed\", \"Legal description of\n\nproperty\", and \"Remarks\", and the clerk shall make the proper entry\n\nin each column.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 3863; Laws 1977, c. 207, § 7, eff.
