Within five (5) business days after the date of the filing\n\nof the lien statement provided for in Sections 142 and 143 of this\n\ntitle, a notice of the lien shall be mailed by certified mail,\n\nreturn receipt requested, to the owner of the property on which the\n\nlien attaches. The claimant shall furnish to the county clerk the\n\nlast-known mailing address of the person or persons against whom the\n\nclaim is made and the owner of the property. The notice shall be\n\nmailed by the county clerk. The fee for preparing and mailing the\n\nnotice of mechanics' and materialmen's lien and costs for each\n\nadditional page or exhibit shall be as provided for in Section 32 of\n\nTitle 28 of the Oklahoma Statutes and shall be paid by the person\n\nfiling the lien. The fee shall be deposited into the County Clerk's\n\nLien Fee Account, created pursuant to the provisions of Section 265\n\nof Title 19 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nB. The notice shall contain the date of filing; the name and\n\naddress of the following: The person claiming the lien; the person\n\nagainst whom the claim is made and the owner of the property; a\n\nlegal description of the property; and the amount claimed. Provided\n\nthat, if with due diligence the person against whom the claim is\n\nmade or the owner of the property cannot be found, the claimant\n\nafter filing an affidavit setting forth such facts may, within sixty\n\n(60) days of the filing of the lien statement, serve a copy of the\n\nnotice upon the occupant of the property or the occupant of the\n\nimprovements, as the case may be, in a like manner as is provided\n\nfor service upon the owner thereof, or, if the same be unoccupied,\n\nthe claimant may post a copy in a conspicuous place upon the\n\nproperty or any improvements thereon.","path":["OK Code","Title 42"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os42.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8b9d38a5f506385b01ab90dcf1fcf29311faaad02074d858e6b52228317f7dbe","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-42-42-143","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-42-42-143.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
