Stat. tit. 42, § 42-192","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Self-Service Storage Facility Lien Act, unless\n\nthe context otherwise requires:\n\n1. \"Default\" means the failure by the occupant to perform in a\n\ntimely manner any obligation or duty set forth in this act or the\n\nrental agreement;\n\n2. \"Last-known address\" means that address or electronic mail\n\naddress provided by the occupant in the latest rental agreement or\n\nthe address or electronic mail address provided by the occupant in a\n\nsubsequent written notice of a change of address;\n\n3. \"Occupant\" means a person, or his sublessee, successor, or\n\nassign, entitled to the use of the storage space at a self-service\n\nstorage facility under a rental agreement, to the exclusion of\n\nothers;\n\n4. \"Owner\" means the owner, operator, lessor, or sublessor of a\n\nself-service storage facility, his agent, or any other person\n\nauthorized by him to manage the facility or to receive rent from an\n\noccupant under a rental agreement;\n\n5. \"Personal property\" means movable property not affixed to\n\nland and includes, but is not limited to, goods, merchandise, and\n\nhousehold items;\n\n6. \"Rental agreement\" means any written agreement or lease\n\nwhich establishes or modifies the terms, conditions, rules, or any\n\nother provisions concerning the use and occupancy at a self-service\n\nstorage facility and which contains a notice stating that all\n\narticles stored under the terms of such agreement will be sold or\n\notherwise disposed of if no payment has been received for a\n\ncontinuous thirty-day period;\n\n7. \"Self-service storage facility\" means any real property\n\ndesigned and used for the purpose of renting or leasing individual\n\nstorage space to occupants who are to have access to such facility\n\nfor the purpose of storing and removing personal property;\n\n8. \"Electronic mail\" means an electronic message or an\n\nexecutable program or computer file that contains an image of a\n\nmessage that is transmitted between two or more computers or\n\nelectronic terminals and includes electronic messages that are\n\ntransmitted within or between computer networks;\n\n9. \"Sale\" means a sale made after public notice and includes\n\nbut is not limited to a sale at the self-service storage facility or\n\na sale conducted online at a publicly accessible website; and\n\n10. \"Verified mail\" means any method of mailing that is offered\n\nby the United States Postal Service or private delivery service that\n\nprovides evidence of mailing.","path":["OK Code","Title 42"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os42.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9d1c2c22ff001678d24de88b310294f14d474c0ff88ea987cb0edd439a12f131","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-42-42-191","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-42-42-193"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
