A proceeding for dissolution of marriage, an annulment of a\n\nmarriage, or a legal separation shall be titled \"In re the Marriage\n\nof _______ and ______\".\n\nB. The initial pleading in all proceedings under this title\n\nshall be denominated a petition. The person filing the petition\n\nshall be called the petitioner. A responsive pleading shall be\n\ndenominated a response. The person filing the responsive pleading\n\nshall be called the respondent. Other pleadings shall be\n\ndenominated as provided in the Rules of Civil Procedure, except as\n\notherwise provided in this section.\n\nC. The petition must be verified as true, by the affidavit of\n\nthe petitioner.\n\nD. A summons may issue thereon, and shall be served, or\n\npublication made, as in other civil cases.\n\nE. Wherever it occurs in this title or in any other title of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes or in any forms or court documents prepared\n\npursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Statutes, the term\n\n“divorce” shall mean and be deemed to refer to a “dissolution of\n\nmarriage” unless the context or subject matter otherwise requires.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 4964.
