As used in this section, \"court expert\" means a parenting\n\ncoordinator, guardian ad litem, custody evaluator or any other\n\nperson appointed by the court in a custody or visitation proceeding\n\ninvolving children.\n\nB. Before the court appoints an individual as a court expert,\n\nthe following disclosures shall be made by the candidate to the\n\nparties:\n\n1. A disclosure of any prior relationships with any party,\n\nattorney or judge in the pending action;\n\n2. A complete resume disclosing all personal and professional\n\nqualifications to serve as a court expert;\n\n3. Any suspensions from practice, reprimands, or other formal\n\npunishments resulting from an adjudication of complaints filed\n\nagainst the person with the professional licensing board or other\n\norganization authorized to receive complaints regarding the\n\nperformance of the individual in question; and\n\n4. Any criminal convictions within the past ten (10) years and\n\ninclusion on any sexual offender list.\n\nC. A party may file an objection to the appointment of a\n\nproposed court expert within fifteen (15) days after the receipt of\n\nthe disclosures required by subsection B of this section. Upon\n\nfiling an objection to the proposed court expert, the court shall\n\nset the matter for hearing. If requested, the party objecting to\n\nthe appointment of the proposed court expert shall be entitled to\n\ndiscovery related to the qualifications and appropriateness of the\n\nproposed court expert prior to hearing.\n\nD. In any case involving domestic violence, stalking or\n\nharassment as defined by paragraph 2 of subsection I of Section 109\n\nof this title, the court expert shall have completed sixteen (16)\n\nhours of domestic violence training that includes, but is not\n\nlimited to, information regarding the danger and lethality of\n\ndomestic violence, the causes and dynamics of domestic violence, the\n\nimpact of domestic violence upon victims and children, and the\n\ncharacteristics of a batterer as a parent.","path":["OK Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os43.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"21d2fffc6ef2aeac9ac8bee20502a65f5678ca3632dd33f61b3e1af42311e61d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-120.6","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-121"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
