Stat. tit. 43, § 43-139","heading":"Legal right to child support","body":"The Legislature finds and declares that child support is a basic\n\nlegal right of the state's parents and children, that mothers and\n\nfathers have a legal obligation to provide financial support for\n\ntheir children and that child support payments can have a\n\nsubstantial impact on child poverty and state welfare expenditures.\n\nIt is therefore the Legislature's intent to encourage payment of\n\nchild support to decrease overall costs to the state's taxpayers\n\nwhile increasing the amount of financial support collected for the\n\nstate's children by authorizing the district courts of this state\n\nand the Department of Human Services to order the revocation,\n\nsuspension, nonissuance or nonrenewal of any recreational license or\n\npermit, or permit including, but not limited to, a hunting and\n\nfishing license or other authorization issued pursuant to the\n\nOklahoma Wildlife Conservation Code, Section 1-101 et seq. of Title\n\n29 of the Oklahoma Statutes, and certificates of title for vessels\n\nand motors and other licenses of registration issued pursuant to the\n\nOklahoma Vessel and Motor Registration Act, Section 4001 et seq. of\n\nTitle 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes, or to order probation for a\n\nparent who is in noncompliance with an order for support for at\n\nleast ninety (90) days or failing, after receiving appropriate\n\nnotice to comply with subpoenas or warrants relating to paternity or\n\nchild support proceedings.","path":["OK Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os43.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"0fbb11ae95c51ec19ef8668aa1d347ee428cc00f3aef7bef17520c772bc02391","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-138","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-139.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
