Stat. tit. 43, § 43-150.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Deployed Parents Custody and Visitation Act:\n\n1. \"Civilian personnel\" means direct-hire, permanent civilian\n\nemployees of the Department of Defense;\n\n2. \"Close and substantial relationship\" means a relationship in\n\nwhich a bond has been forged between the child and the other person\n\nby regular contact or communication;\n\n3. \"Custodial responsibility\" refers to legal custody, physical\n\ncustody or visitation rights with respect to a child;\n\n4. \"Deploying parent\" means a legal parent of a minor child or\n\nthe legal guardian of a child, who is a member of the United States\n\nArmed Forces, civilian personnel or contractor serving in designated\n\ncombat zones or duty stations and who is deployed or has been\n\nnotified of an impending deployment;\n\n5. \"Deployment\" means the temporary transfer of a\n\nservicemember, civilian personnel or contractor serving outside\n\ntheir residential zone, or in designated combat zones, in compliance\n\nwith official orders to another location in support of combat,\n\ncontingency operation, or natural disaster requiring the use of\n\norders for a period of more than thirty (30) consecutive days,\n\nduring which family members are not authorized to accompany the\n\nservicemember at government expense. Deployment shall include any\n\nperiod during which a servicemember, civilian personnel or\n\ncontractor serving outside their residential zone, or in designated\n\ncombat zones, is absent from duty on account of sickness, wounds,\n\nleave or other lawful cause, and shall also include any transfer\n\npursuant to military orders requiring presence in a foreign country;\n\n6. \"Guardian\" means a person who has been appointed as a\n\nguardian of a minor or incapacitated adult pursuant to the\n\nrequirements of Title 30 of the Oklahoma Statutes. The term shall\n\ninclude a limited guardian, but shall not include a guardian ad\n\nlitem;\n\n7. \"Nondeploying parent\" means a legal parent or guardian who\n\nis not deployed and who has a child or ward in common with a\n\ndeploying parent;\n\n8. \"Residential zone\" means a seventy-five-mile radius\n\nsurrounding a servicemember's permanent place of dwelling located\n\nwithin the servicemember's state of legal residence or domicile;\n\n9. \"Servicemember\" means a member of either:\n\na. the active or reserve components of the Army, Navy,\n\nAir Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, or Coast Guard,\n\nor\n\nb. the active or reserve components of the National\n\nGuard; and\n\n10. \"Visitation\" means the right to take a child for a limited\n\nperiod of time to a place other than the habitual residence of the\n\nchild.","path":["OK Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os43.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"0a66f729c9114f91a33152f8340e839f157a8e4b0254fc26541b041a70901c76","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-150","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-150.10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
