Marriage licenses shall be issued to all applicants who are\n\nentitled under the laws of the State of Oklahoma to apply for a\n\nmarriage license and contract matrimony. Once issued, the marriage\n\nlicense shall be valid for thirty (30) days and the marriage\n\nceremony shall be performed no later than thirty (30) days from the\n\ndate the license is issued. The marriage license and completed\n\nmarriage certificate shall be returned to the court clerk for\n\nrecording no later than thirty (30) days from the date the license\n\nwas issued.\n\nB. The time within which an act is to be done, as provided for\n\nin Title 43 of the Oklahoma Statutes, shall be computed by excluding\n\nthe first day and including the last day. If the last day is a\n\nlegal holiday as defined by Section 82.1 of Title 25 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, it shall be excluded. The provisions of this section are\n\nhereby declared to be a clarification of the law as it existed prior\n\nto June 1, 2000, and shall not be considered or construed to be a\n\nchange of the law as it existed prior to June 1, 2000. Any action\n\nor proceeding arising under Title 43 of the Oklahoma Statutes prior\n\nto June 1, 2000, for which a determination of the period of time\n\nprescribed by this section is in question or has been in question\n\ndue to the enactment of Section 2006 of Title 12 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes shall be governed by the method for computation of time as\n\nprescribed by this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os43.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3a7c32225178e7909a3cd5fa5f1c4311f078557c876d9b0231b666fbd4ad107d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
