Stat. tit. 43, § 43-561-102","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. “Child” means an unemancipated individual under eighteen\n\n(18) years of age;\n\n2. “Child-placing agency” means a person with authority under\n\nthe laws of this state to identify or place a child for adoption.\n\nChild-placing agency does not include a parent of the child;\n\n3. “Custody” means the exercise of physical care and\n\nsupervision of a child;\n\n4. “Intercountry adoption” means an adoption or placement for\n\nadoption of a child who resides in a foreign country at the time of\n\nadoption or placement, which includes an adoption finalized in the\n\nchild’s country of residence or in a state;\n\n5. “Parent” means an individual recognized as a parent under\n\nthe laws of this state;\n\n6. “Person” means an individual, estate, business or nonprofit\n\nentity, public corporation, government or governmental subdivision,\n\nagency, or instrumentality, or other legal entity;\n\n7. “Record” means information:\n\na. inscribed on a tangible medium, or\n\nb. stored in an electronic or other medium and\n\nretrievable in perceivable form; and\n\n8. “State” means a state of the United States, the District of\n\nColumbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, or any\n\nother territory or possession subject to the jurisdiction of the\n\nUnited States, including a federally recognized Indian tribe.","path":["OK Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os43.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d779b2101de9178c3d15509c949cab7934589ea43e53731d04207c20b5398e3b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-561-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43-43-561-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
