Stat. tit. 43, § 43-561-202","heading":"Custody transfers not applicable","body":"The provisions of this article shall not apply to a transfer of\n\ncustody of a child by a parent or guardian of the child to:\n\n1. A parent of the child;\n\n2. A stepparent of the child;\n\n3. An adult who is related to the child by blood, marriage,\n\nadoption, or other relationship recognized by the laws of this\n\nstate;\n\n4. An adult who, at the time of the transfer, had a close\n\nrelationship with the child or the parent or guardian of the child\n\nfor a substantial period, and whom the parent or guardian reasonably\n\nbelieves, at the time of the transfer, to be a fit custodian of the\n\nchild;\n\n5. An Indian custodian, as defined in Section 4(6) of the\n\nIndian Child Welfare Act of 1978, 25 U.S.C. Section 1903(6), as\n\namended, of the child; or\n\n6.
