A party contesting the validity or enforcement of a\n\nregistered support order or seeking to vacate the registration has\n\nthe burden of proving one or more of the following defenses:\n\n1. The issuing tribunal lacked personal jurisdiction over the\n\ncontesting party;\n\n2. The order was obtained by fraud;\n\n3. The order has been vacated, suspended, or modified by a\n\nlater order;\n\n4. The issuing tribunal has stayed the order pending appeal;\n\n5. There is a defense under the law of this state to the remedy\n\nsought;\n\n6. Full or partial payment has been made;\n\n7. The statute of limitation under Section 601-604 of this\n\ntitle precludes enforcement of some or all of the alleged\n\narrearages; or\n\n8. The alleged controlling order is not the controlling order.\n\nB. If a party presents evidence establishing a full or partial\n\ndefense under subsection A of this section, a tribunal may stay\n\nenforcement of a registered support order, continue the proceeding\n\nto permit production of additional relevant evidence, and issue\n\nother appropriate orders. An uncontested portion of the registered\n\nsupport order may be enforced by all remedies available under the\n\nlaw of this state.\n\nC.
